CBAK Energy previews new LFP battery cells for AI data center backup
CBAK Energy Technology Limited (NASDAQ: CBAT) announced a preview of two next-generation lithium iron phosphate cylindrical cells, the 26650 HP V2.0 and 26650 PFS2 V2.0, designed for battery backup unit and uninterruptible power supply applications in AI data centers.
According to the company, the 26650 HP V2.0 is rated at 40C continuous discharge and 260 W single-cell power output, while the 26650 PFS2 V2.0 is rated at 38C continuous discharge and 310 W single-cell power output. Both cells share the standard 26650 form factor. The company claims both cells support up to 100C pulse discharge under specified test conditions and feature internal resistance below 3 mΩ.
CBAK Energy states the cells are designed to maintain voltage stability during millisecond-level power switching events and sustain more than 600 cycles under 5C/10C test conditions. The company also cites an operating temperature range of -40°C to 70°C.
The Dalian, China-based company said it expects to release additional product details, application guidance, and availability updates in a forthcoming official product launch. CBAK Energy noted it is open to technical discussions with BBU solution providers, UPS manufacturers, and data center infrastructure partners.
All performance figures cited are based on CBAK Energy's internal laboratory testing under specified conditions, and actual performance may vary depending on system design and operating conditions.
