Tempus AI partners with Angiosarcoma Awareness on rare cancer data

June 25, 2026 8:31 AM EDT

Tempus AI, Inc. (NASDAQ: TEM) announced a research collaboration with Angiosarcoma Awareness, Inc. to advance data-driven research into angiosarcoma, a rare malignant tumor originating in the endothelial cells lining blood vessels, according to a press release.

The collaboration will draw on Tempus' dataset of approximately 600 de-identified angiosarcoma records, each paired with DNA and RNA sequencing data and associated clinical information. The company describes this as one of the largest known disease-specific molecular datasets for angiosarcoma.

Angiosarcoma is diagnosed in roughly 1,000 people in the U.S. each year. Researchers cite limited molecular understanding, fragmented data access, and a lack of effective pre-clinical models as key obstacles to studying the disease.

"Precision medicine should not be limited by the availability of data, especially for patients with uncommon and aggressive cancers," said Ezra Cohen, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Oncology at Tempus.

Corrie Painter, CEO of Angiosarcoma Awareness, Inc., noted that patients are geographically dispersed and data is fragmented across institutions, adding that the combined resources of Tempus and the Angiosarcoma Project could "reveal new disease biology, identify therapeutic opportunities and establish a model for how collaborative data sharing can accelerate discovery across rare cancers."

The effort builds on the Angiosarcoma Project, a patient research initiative launched in 2017 involving the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Count Me In.
