Nano Nuclear CEO takes interim reactor development role after CTO departs

Nano Nuclear Energy Inc. (NASDAQ: NNE) announced that Chief Executive Officer James Walker has taken on the role of interim head of reactor development, following the departure of Chief Technology Officer and head of reactor development Dr. Florent Heidet, effective immediately.
In connection with the leadership change, Prof. Massimiliano Fratoni, senior director and head of reactor design at Nano Nuclear and a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, will take on an expanded role supporting the company's KRONOS MMR™ reactor program, including prototype development at the University of Illinois and plans for commercial deployment. Prof. Fratoni had previously been working on the company's ZEUS™ microreactor.
"We have greatly expanded our engineering and technical teams over the last year; and will continue our efforts to improve and optimize the execution of our reactor and commercial vertical integration vision," said Jay Yu, chairman and president of Nano Nuclear Energy.
The company also disclosed participation in several international nuclear energy forums between May and June 2026. Nano Nuclear's international nuclear policy advisor, Sarah Lennon, served as a panelist at the Nuclear Energy Innovation Summit for Africa, held May 19–21 in Kigali, Rwanda, which convened representatives from 24 African nations. The company also joined the Nuclear Energy Institute's executive mission to India on May 17–21, with meetings held in New Delhi and Mumbai. Project engineer Leopoldo Garcia contributed to a U.S. Department of State-affiliated small modular reactor workshop held June 2–4 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
