Realbotix launches AI teacher assistant pilot in New York school district

Realbotix Corp. has launched a pilot program at Salamanca City Central School District, located on the Seneca Nation Reservation in New York, deploying its AI-powered teacher's assistant platform called Optio alongside an M-Series humanoid robot, according to a statement from Onconetix, Inc. (Nasdaq: ONCO).

The initial deployment targets high school students enrolled in Woz ED AI and Robotics courses. The pilot is expected to expand to approximately 500 high school students in fall 2026.

Optio is designed to provide personalized tutoring outside school hours, offering homework support around the clock in multiple languages. The platform uses student avatars trained on district curriculum and includes safety guardrails and operates under district oversight. Realbotix states the system is also designed to support neurodiverse learners.

The M-Series humanoid robot deployed alongside Optio uses facial expressions, natural conversation, and real-time interaction to support classroom engagement. Salamanca City Central School District is a recognized Woz ED STEM Pathway district.

Onconetix, a biotechnology company, announced in February 2026 that it entered into a definitive share exchange agreement to acquire 100% of Realbotix LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Realbotix Corp. (TSX-V: XBOT), in an all-stock transaction. The combined company is expected to trade on Nasdaq following the close of the deal, which is anticipated in the second half of 2026, pending Onconetix shareholder approval, regulatory approvals, and other closing conditions.
