AST SpaceMobile plans August launch of three more BlueBird satellites

AST SpaceMobile (NASDAQ: ASTS) has announced that its BlueBird satellites 11, 12, and 13 are targeted to launch in the first half of August aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida.

The three satellites will join BlueBirds 8, 9, and 10, which launched in June 2026 and are already operating in low Earth orbit. According to a company press release, satellites are being produced and assembled through BlueBird 37.

BlueBirds 11, 12, and 13 feature communications arrays measuring approximately 2,400 square feet, matching the scale of satellites currently in orbit. The company states the new satellites are expected to deliver nearly double the peak data speeds of its initial Block 1 BlueBird satellites, which recently recorded peak download speeds of 98.9 Mbps directly to standard smartphones.

The satellites use a stackable architecture with composite carbon structures designed to support multi-satellite launches.

"With each successful launch, we move closer to our goal of making space-based cellular broadband accessible wherever people live, work, and travel," said Scott Wisniewski, President of AST SpaceMobile.

AST SpaceMobile states it has agreements with nearly 60 mobile network operators globally, representing over 3 billion subscribers combined. The company lists strategic partnerships with AT&T, Verizon, Vodafone, Rakuten, Google, Bell, Telus, stc Group, and American Tower.

The company noted that the exact timing of orbital launches is subject to change based on launch readiness, weather conditions, and other factors.
