SoFi Technologies (NASDAQ: SOFI) has launched Composer by SoFi, an AI-powered investing platform that allows users to create, test, and automate investment strategies using natural language, following its acquisition of Composer Securities LLC.
The platform enables investors to describe investment ideas in plain English, which the system then translates into rules-based strategies that can be backtested against historical data and executed automatically according to predefined conditions set by the investor. SoFi said the platform differs from agentic trading tools in that AI is used to help build strategies rather than to make continuous trading decisions.
Composer by SoFi offers three entry points: building a custom strategy from scratch, selecting from more than 2,000 community-built strategies, or combining multiple strategies into a diversified portfolio.
"Our acquisition of Composer reflects SoFi's strategy of identifying innovative technologies and exceptional teams that can strengthen our ecosystem over time," said Anthony Noto, CEO of SoFi.
SoFi said Composer will be integrated into the broader SoFi platform and made available to SoFi Plus members over time. The launch follows the company's introduction last month of SoFi Coach, a separate AI-powered financial assistant. Financial terms of the Composer Securities acquisition were not disclosed in the announcement.
