Baker Hughes wins long-term service deal for Nigeria gas plant

Baker Hughes (NASDAQ: BKR) has been awarded a long-term service agreement by ANOH Gas Processing Company (AGPC) to provide lifecycle services for turbomachinery at the ANOH Gas Processing Plant in Nigeria, according to a press release.

The agreement covers parts, repair services, engineering advisory, and iCenter™ digital services — powered by Cordant™ — for remote monitoring and diagnostics of critical equipment, including two NovaLT™16 gas turbines. Services will be delivered through Baker Hughes' Service Center in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

The agreement extends an existing relationship between the two companies. In 2019, Baker Hughes supplied an integrated power island solution for the facility, which included the two NovaLT™16 gas turbines, along with compressors and gears. The company has described those turbines as the first of their kind supplied in Sub-Saharan Africa.

James Makinde, Managing Director at ANOH Gas Processing Company, said reliable performance of the plant's turbomachinery is "essential to the successful operation of the ANOH Plant and to delivering on Nigeria's domestic energy supply goals."

Maria Claudia Borras, Baker Hughes Chief Growth & Experience Officer and interim Executive Vice President of Industrial & Energy Technology, said the agreement reflects the company's "regional expertise" paired with "advanced digital technologies and services."

The ANOH Gas Processing Plant is part of Nigeria's strategy to develop natural gas resources for power generation and industrial use.
