People Inc. names new chief accounting officer as predecessor retires
People Incorporated (NASDAQ: PPLI) appointed Christopher Currier as Chief Accounting Officer and Principal Accounting Officer, effective June 16, 2026, according to a company statement.
Currier, 41, previously served as the company's Senior Vice President and Controller. Before joining People in 2014, he spent over seven years at Ernst & Young LLP in roles spanning transformative strategy and transactions, audit, financial accounting advisory, and valuation practices.
In connection with the appointment, Currier entered into a Retention Agreement dated May 26, 2026. Under its terms, if the company terminates his employment without cause, he would be entitled to accelerate vesting in the greater of 100% of any restricted stock unit awards outstanding as of the agreement date, or any unvested RSU awards that would have vested within 12 months following his separation date, subject to applicable performance conditions and vesting schedules.
Concurrently, Michael H. Schwerdtman notified the company of his retirement from the Chief Accounting Officer role, also effective June 16, 2026. Schwerdtman had served in the role since November 2024, and previously from December 2004 until August 2023. He will remain an employee and serve as an advisor through February 28, 2027.
