Ciena Corporation (NYSE: CIEN) has appointed Grant Hoffman as Chief Supply Chain Officer and transitioned Brodie Gage into the role of Chief Product and Technology Officer, according to a company statement. Both appointments are effective immediately, and both executives report to President and CEO Gary Smith.

Hoffman joins Ciena with more than 25 years of experience in supply chain, operations, and portfolio management. He previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer at Poly, where he led end-to-end supply chain operations and a global digital transformation. He subsequently joined HP following its acquisition of Poly, serving as Senior Vice President of Operations and Solutions Delivery. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at Google, Motorola, and Continental AG.

Gage, who previously served as Senior Vice President of Global Products and Supply Chain on Ciena's Executive Leadership Team, takes on an expanded mandate that combines product and technology strategy. In his new role, he will continue leading Product Line Management, Solutions Engineering and Introduction, and Quality, while also partnering with Ciena's Global Research and Development team. Gage joined Ciena in 2010 through its acquisition of Nortel's optical business.

"As demand for our technology continues to grow, our ability to scale and optimize our supply chain is critical to delivering for our customers," said Gary Smith, president and CEO of Ciena.
