Toy Story 5 drives record opening weekend for Cinemark

June 22, 2026 8:01 AM EDT

Cinemark Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CNK) reported its highest-ever domestic three-day opening weekend box office for a G- or PG-rated film, driven by Toy Story 5, according to a company statement.

The weekend also marked Cinemark's best domestic June weekend box office on record and its top-performing box office weekend of 2026. The company said carryover from recent releases, including Disclosure Day and Obsession, contributed to the results.

Cinemark also recorded its highest June weekend domestic food and beverage revenue per customer in company history, which it attributed to demand for Toy Story 5-themed merchandise and its expanded concession offerings.

"Cinemark auditoriums were filled with fans of all ages as Toy Story 5 soared 'to infinity and beyond,' delivering our biggest opening weekend ever for a family film," said Sean Gamble, Cinemark President and CEO.

Cinemark operates nearly 500 theaters and more than 5,500 screens across 42 U.S. states and 13 countries in South and Central America.
