Investing.com - Boeing (NYSE: BA) received an $880 million contract from the U.S. Department of War for P-8A Poseidon aircrew and maintenance training systems, the agency announced Thursday.
The firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract covers procurement, modernization, and sustainment of training systems. The work includes development, integration, testing, delivery, and installation of new training devices and upgrades to existing trainers, along with associated hardware, software, spares, and support services.
Work will be performed primarily in St. Louis, Missouri, which accounts for 80% of the contract, with the remainder spread across Jacksonville, Florida; Oak Harbor, Washington; and international locations including Australia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, South Korea, Germany, Canada, Singapore, and Norway. The contract is expected to be completed by June 2031.
No funds will be obligated at the time of award. Funds will be obligated on individual orders as they are issued. The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division in Orlando, Florida, is the contracting activity.
Boeing also received an estimated $55.4 million modification exercising a three-year option period for P-8A commercial common consumables market baskets. A delivery order for $18.5 million was executed at the time of the modification award, with work to be performed in St. Louis and Seattle through June 30, 2029.
