Alarm.com launches indoor camera with physical privacy shutter

Alarm.com (Nasdaq: ALRM) has introduced the ADC-V530, an indoor Wi-Fi camera featuring a built-in physical privacy shutter, 4MP HDR video, and color night vision via an integrated spotlight.

According to the company, the ADC-V530 is its first indoor camera with a shutter that physically blocks the lens when closed. Users can control the shutter manually or automate it through schedules set in the Alarm.com app. The camera offers a 110-degree field of view and supports encrypted local recording via onboard microSD storage, as well as integration with Alarm.com Stream Video Recorders for continuous 24/7 recording.

The camera includes video analytics capable of detecting people, animals, vehicles, and business activity. Eligible U.S. customers on Premium Video or Commercial Video Plus plans can access an AI Video Event search feature using natural language queries, though this feature is unavailable in Illinois.

"With the V530, we set out to remove the biggest objection to indoor cameras," said Dan Kerzner, President of Platforms Business at Alarm.com. "Customers get sharper video, better visibility at night, and a physical privacy control they can see and trust, all included with the Alarm.com platform."

The ADC-V530 is positioned for both residential and small-to-medium business use. Business users can access Business Activity Analytics for traffic and customer behavior data. The camera is priced lower than Alarm.com's previous-generation indoor camera, according to the company.

The ADC-V530 is available through Alarm.com service providers across supported markets.
