Busch Gardens Tampa Bay names Jon Vigue as park president

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, owned by United Parks & Resorts (NYSE: PRKS), has appointed Jon Vigue as its new park president, according to a company statement.

Vigue brings nearly 30 years of experience in the attractions industry. He previously held a long-term position at Wild Adventures Theme Park in Georgia and spent nearly two decades at Lake Compounce Theme Park, where he was involved in the property's revitalization. He has also been a member of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) since 2007, most recently serving as chair of the Food & Beverage Committee for North America.

His appointment comes as the park is undertaking more than $100 million in investments in new attractions and park enhancements. Recent additions include Wild Oasis, a family adventure area that opened in 2025, and Lion and Hyena Ridge, described as the park's largest animal habitat in more than a decade, featuring five young male lions and a pair of hyenas within 270-degree viewing areas.

"We are strategically focused on enhancing every aspect of the guest experience at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Jon's extensive industry experience makes him the ideal leader to help guide that vision forward," said Kyle Miller, Co-Chief Parks Operations Officer at United Parks & Resorts.

The park's Summer Nights event runs through Aug. 9, featuring extended evening hours and entertainment. A new drone and fireworks show is scheduled to debut July 10.
