TGE expands media brands across Asia and eyes M&A in entertainment
The Generation Essentials Group (NYSE: TGE), a subsidiary of AMTD Digital Inc. (NYSE: HKD), announced an expansion of its media business across multiple markets, including new regional editions of its two media properties, L'OFFICIEL and The Art Newspaper.
TGE launched L'OFFICIEL 时装 Singapore, a Chinese-language edition led by Regional Managing Director Aileen Soh and Editor-in-Chief Grace Lee. The company said Singapore is the first country to host both English and Chinese editions of L'OFFICIEL. A Taiwan edition is also planned.
The Art Newspaper Hong Kong SAR edition launched during Art Basel Hong Kong 2026, with two issues published since its debut. The Art Newspaper China, covering the Chinese mainland in both print and digital formats, is scheduled to launch in October. Regional editions for Africa and India are also in preparation.
On distribution, TGE said both titles are now available at The Peninsula Hong Kong, with plans to extend across The Peninsula's global hotel portfolio. The magazines are also being rolled out at AMTD-branded properties, including Dao by Dorsett AMTD Singapore and AMTD IDEA Tribeca Hotel, with additional availability at iclub AMTD Sheung Wan Hotel and AMTD Dao by Dorsett Hornsey in London starting in July.
TGE's board has also adopted an acquisitions-focused growth strategy, with the company actively evaluating targets in the movies and entertainment, and sport and leisure media segments. The company said this approach is intended to broaden its content offerings and diversify revenue streams.
L'OFFICIEL currently operates in over 30 countries and territories, while The Art Newspaper has coverage across more than 17 countries. TGE is headquartered in France and also includes movie and entertainment projects in its portfolio, according to the press release.
