Bed Bath & Beyond, Inc. (NYSE: BBBY) has launched the first phase of a nationwide rollout of co-branded retail locations combining Bed Bath & Beyond and The Container Store under one roof, the company announced.
Twenty-two stores across the United States have begun operating under the new format, with additional locations scheduled to convert in the coming weeks. The phase one locations span markets including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Houston, Atlanta, and Nashville, among others.
The combined store format brings together Bed Bath & Beyond's assortment of bedding, bath, kitchen, and home essentials with The Container Store's organization products, custom closet systems, design services, and installation solutions.
The rollout follows what the company described as a successful launch of its first co-branded store in Texas. Marcus Lemonis, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said in a statement: "For decades, customers have had to visit multiple retailers, websites and service providers to complete a single home project. One company for bedding, another for storage, another for closets, another for installation. That model no longer works."
The company also said it plans to expand Beyond Home Services within the stores, adding cabinetry, flooring, installation, and other home improvement offerings.
Bed Bath & Beyond said additional co-branded locations are expected to open in phases over the coming weeks. The company's brand portfolio also includes Overstock and buybuy BABY.
