The Clorox Company (NYSE: CLX) announced a restructuring of its operating leadership, consolidating oversight of all business units under a single executive, according to a company press release.
Chris Hyder, previously executive vice president and group president of Health & Hygiene, has been appointed executive vice president and chief operating officer, effective immediately. In the new role, Hyder will oversee end-to-end execution across all business units, a responsibility previously divided among multiple group presidents.
Nina Barton, who served as executive vice president and group president of Care & Connection, will transition to a newly created role as executive vice president and chief growth & strategy officer. In that capacity, Barton will oversee innovation, strategy, and portfolio development, with commercial functions reporting to her.
"This refined operating structure will help us move faster and deliver stronger results as we continue to focus our investment behind faster-growing health and hygiene categories," said Chair and CEO Linda Rendle.
The restructuring reduces the number of executives overseeing individual business segments. Clorox's reportable segments include Health & Wellness, International, Household, and Lifestyle.
Separately, Clorox noted that its board of directors is conducting a search for a new CEO, a process announced on May 28. The board said it is working with an external search firm and evaluating a broad range of candidates.
Clorox is headquartered in Oakland, California, and markets brands including Brita, Burt's Bees, Clorox, Fresh Step, Glad, Hidden Valley, Kingsford, Liquid-Plumr, Pine-Sol, and Purell.
