SpaceX names Roelof Botha to board of directors

Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: SPCX) announced that its board of directors elected Roelof Botha as an independent Common Stock Director, effective June 16, 2026, according to a company statement.
Botha will serve until the company's next annual meeting of shareholders and has also been appointed to the board's Audit Committee.
Botha has been with Sequoia Capital, a venture capital firm, since 2003, and served as a managing member of Sequoia Capital Operations, LLC from 2007 to 2025. Prior to that, he held several positions at PayPal, Inc. from 2000 to 2003, including chief financial officer.
He has served on the Stanford University Board of Trustees since 2024. Botha holds a B.S. in Actuarial Science, Economics, and Statistics from the University of Cape Town and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
