Unlimitail, a retail media company operating across Europe and Latin America, has selected Snowflake (NYSE: SNOW) to power its planned Global Retail Media Data Hub, according to a press release from Snowflake.
The hub will be built using Snowflake Data Clean Rooms, a technology that allows retailers, brands, and agencies to analyze shared data without raw customer data leaving each retailer's own environment. Unlimitail plans to launch the platform later this year.
Unlimitail's network currently spans 120 retail sites, reaching 250 million shoppers and generating more than 3 billion page views per month. The company has more than 35 active retail partners, including MediaMarkt Saturn, MyOrigines, ID Kids, and Hygie 31, and has previously managed first-party data on behalf of Carrefour.
The platform is intended to allow brands to measure campaign outcomes against actual purchase data at the point of sale, rather than relying solely on clicks or impressions. Snowflake's zero-copy architecture and role-based controls are designed to ensure each retailer accesses only its own data while enabling cross-retailer collaboration.
"By building on Snowflake, we can give every retailer in our network full control of their first-party data while also giving brands the closed-loop proof they've been asking for," said Alexis Marcombe, Chief Executive Officer of Unlimitail.
"Most retail media measurement stops at the click. With Unlimitail, brands can go all the way to the receipt," said Simon Contreras, Industry Principal for Retail and Consumer Goods at Snowflake.
