Magnite (NASDAQ: MGNI) announced a partnership with Viasat Aviation to bring programmatic advertising to in-flight screens and personal devices, according to a press release issued June 17, 2026.
The partnership integrates Magnite's programmatic infrastructure with Viasat Ads, Viasat Aviation's in-flight advertising platform. The arrangement gives advertisers access to inventory across seatback entertainment screens and passenger devices connected via onboard Wi-Fi.
Viasat's connectivity technology is used by over 60 airlines on more than 4,000 aircraft worldwide. The company claims its platform reaches over 250 million passengers annually across airlines serving more than 400 destinations. Viasat Ads supports dynamic ad targeting by route, destination, and events.
Through the partnership, advertisers will be able to purchase in-flight ad inventory in real time rather than through traditional planning cycles tied to airline content management systems. Magnite's infrastructure will support consistent ad formatting, measurement, and brand-safety controls across the Viasat network.
Ragu Kamakshisundaram, Viasat's Vice President of Media and Monetization, said: "Instead of long planning cycles to integrate advertisements into airline content management systems, advertisers can now reach the flying traveler instantly."
Leon Siotis, SVP of Business Development, International at Magnite, said in-flight screens and personal devices "are emerging as some of the most valuable untapped digital advertising environments."
