Travere Therapeutics (Nasdaq: TVTX) announced that William Rote, Ph.D., its chief research officer, plans to retire in February 2027 after 10 years with the company.

Jula Inrig, M.D., currently chief medical officer, will expand her responsibilities to lead both research and development functions. She will be named executive vice president, head of research and development and CMO, adding oversight of regulatory affairs, quality, technical operations, biometrics and research to her existing duties.

Dr. Inrig joined Travere in January 2022. Before that, she served as global head of the Renal Center of Excellence at IQVIA. She has more than 20 years of experience in clinical research, drug development and global regulatory strategy.

"Jula has consistently demonstrated exceptional scientific, strategic, and organizational leadership that has resulted in the multiple approvals in rare kidney disease and a leading rare disease medical organization," said Eric Dube, Ph.D., president and chief executive officer of Travere Therapeutics.

The company said Dr. Rote will work with Dr. Inrig during the transition period leading up to his retirement. The announcement was made according to a press release from the San Diego-based biopharmaceutical company.
