SYNTHOLENE appoints former Suncor and Shell executive to advisory board
Syntholene Energy Corp. (TSXV: ESAF) (OTCQB: SYNTF) (FSE: 3DD0) has appointed Marc Mageau to its advisory board, according to a statement from the company.
Mageau held several senior roles at Suncor, including Senior Vice President of Oil Sands Operations, Senior Vice President of Supply Chain and Field Logistics, Vice President of the Sarnia Refinery, and Senior Vice President of Refining and Logistics. Before Suncor, he spent approximately two decades at Shell in operational, technical, commercial, and leadership positions.
"I'm looking forward to joining Syntholene at this exciting time in their journey," Mageau said. "I believe that my years of operational experience can help grow their demonstration-scale footprint into commercial production capability."
Dan Sutton, CEO of Syntholene, said Mageau's expertise in refining operations, infrastructure execution, logistics management, and industrial scale-up provides insight as the company advances commercialization of its synthetic fuel platform.
Syntholene states it is constructing a geothermally-integrated high-temperature electrolysis demonstration facility in Husavik, Iceland, with completion expected in June 2026. The company's stated target is to produce synthetic jet fuel at costs it claims are 70% lower than competing technologies, though this figure is based on forward-looking assumptions that carry inherent uncertainties.
