Investing.com -- Ford Motor Company is recalling 255,404 vehicles in the United States due to a faulty canister purge valve that may cause engines to stall unexpectedly while driving, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced Friday.
The recall covers certain 2012-2018 Focus vehicles that received incorrect repairs in a previous service action, according to the safety regulator.
Dealers will update the powertrain control module software at no cost to vehicle owners, the NHTSA stated.
The regulator said affected vehicles may display an illuminated malfunction indicator light or owners may notice inaccurate fuel gauge readings.
