US energy chief says unaware of oil seizure from Iran
Investing.com -- US Energy Secretary Chris Wright told lawmakers on Wednesday that he does not know of any operation to remove millions of barrels of oil from Iran, despite President Donald Trump's earlier statements to reporters claiming such action occurred.
Wright made the remarks during a congressional hearing when asked about Trump's comments regarding Iranian oil.
Earlier in the same hearing, Wright said the US military had assisted in moving some oil through the Strait of Hormuz, the narrow passage between Iran and Oman.
On Tuesday, Wright said oil traffic through the strait has increased substantially over the past week.
