Yiren Digital Ltd. (NYSE: YRD) announced that CEO Ning Tang's beneficial ownership of the company increased to approximately 82% from 35.6% following a restructuring of the controlling shareholder on June 5.
The change occurred when Tang acquired full ownership of CreditEase Holdings (Cayman) Limited, Yiren Digital's controlling shareholder. Prior to the restructuring, Tang held a 43.4% equity interest in the controlling entity.
The Beijing-based fintech company stated the restructuring affects only the ownership structure of the controlling shareholder and does not impact daily operations, management, business strategy, or corporate governance.
Yiren Digital operates as a digital consumer lending and insurance company across China and global markets, utilizing artificial intelligence and financial technology platforms.
