Aclarion partners with Institute of Neuro Innovation for Nociscan expansion

Aclarion Inc. (NASDAQ: ACON, ACONW) announced an agreement with the Institute of Neuro Innovation, a Los Angeles-based neuroscience clinic, to expand availability of its Nociscan platform in the greater Los Angeles area.

The partnership will enable the multidisciplinary team led by neurosurgeon Amir Vokshoor to generate real-world evidence comparing Nociscan's chemical biomarker data with bone metabolic information from SPECT-CT imaging. The study aims to evaluate how the two diagnostic tools may work together for chronic low back pain treatment decisions.

"Chronic low back pain has become one of the most common issues we treat," said Vokshoor, founder of the Institute for Neuro Innovation. "Status quo diagnostic tools, like MRI, cannot always provide clear diagnostic insights to the complex spinal anatomy."

Nociscan uses magnetic resonance spectroscopy to measure pain-related chemical biomarkers inside lumbar discs. The platform processes MRS data through proprietary algorithms to help physicians distinguish between painful and nonpainful discs in the lumbar spine. According to the company, Nociscan demonstrates a 97% surgical success rate when all Nociscan-positive discs are treated.

The agreement supports Aclarion's expansion strategy while building data for potential adoption by healthcare payers and providers. Approximately 266 million people worldwide suffer from degenerative spine disease and low back pain, according to the press release.

The Colorado-based healthcare technology company commercializes biomarker and augmented intelligence algorithms through its Nociscan platform to help physicians identify chronic low back pain locations.
