E3 Lithium appoints Tom Gear as COO, Kevin Carroll to retire

E3 Lithium Ltd. (TSXV: ETL) announced Tom Gear will join as Chief Operating Officer effective June 8, 2026, while Kevin Carroll, Chief Development Officer, will retire on June 12, 2026.

Gear brings nearly three decades of energy sector experience, most recently serving as Senior Vice President Oilsands at MEG Energy. He was part of the leadership team that oversaw MEG Energy's $8.6 billion acquisition by Cenovus Energy in 2025. Prior to MEG Energy, Gear spent 24 years at Suncor and Petro-Canada, including a role as Vice President of Environment, Health & Safety. He is a registered professional engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta.

"E3 has built something genuinely rare — a world-class resource, a clear path to production, and an exceptional team," Gear stated. "I'm excited and honoured to join E3 and get Clearwater to commercial operations."

CEO Chris Doornbos said the company conducted an extensive search for the position. "His extensive experience leading large-scale industrial operations, driving organizational excellence, and developing high-performing teams will be invaluable as we move closer to construction and operations of the Clearwater Project," Doornbos stated.

Carroll will remain in an advisory capacity during the transition period. The retiring executive stated: "It has been a privilege and exciting capstone to work with the E3 team to advance Canada's first commercial brine-hosted lithium development to help meet fast growing world lithium demand."

E3 Lithium operates lithium development projects in Alberta with 21.2 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent in measured and indicated mineral resources. The company's Clearwater Pre-Feasibility Study outlined 1.13 million tonnes of proven and probable mineral reserves with a pre-tax net present value of $5.2 billion.
