MDA Space wins BAE Systems contract for U.S. missile warning satellites

MDA Space Ltd. (TSX: MDA) (NYSE: MDA) has been selected by BAE Systems, Inc. (NYSE: BAESY) for the U.S. Space Systems Command MEO EPOCH 2 Constellation program, according to a company statement.
The contract involves MDA Space designing and building antennas and antenna control electronics for medium Earth orbit satellites that will be used for missile warning and tracking missions. BAE Systems will produce the MEO Resilient Missile Warning & Tracking satellites as part of the U.S. multi-orbit missile defense architecture.
The EPOCH 2 program focuses on warning and tracking of advanced ballistic and hypersonic weapons. This award continues MDA Space's previous work on the Space Development Agency's low Earth orbit Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture and the Space Systems Command's EPOCH 1 constellation.
"Being tapped by BAE Systems for the SSC's missile warning satellite constellation affirms our capabilities in delivering reliable satellite solutions for critical defence missions," said Mike Greenley, CEO of MDA Space.
MDA Space added the contract to its backlog in the first quarter of fiscal 2026. The company expects to complete the work in 2027. The press release did not disclose the contract value.
MDA Space provides technology and services to the global space industry and has completed more than 450 missions over its 55-year history. The company employs more than 4,000 people worldwide.
BAE Systems operates as a global defense, aerospace, and security company with approximately 110,000 employees worldwide, including nearly 41,500 in the United States.
