United Airlines (NASDAQ: UAL) announced it will begin nonstop service between St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands and Newark/New York on October 31, 2026. The route will operate on Saturdays using a Boeing 737-700 aircraft with 126 seats, including 12 business class seats.
The airline will be the only carrier offering direct service from St. Croix to the New York City area. Flight schedules show departure from Newark at 9:03 a.m., arriving in St. Croix at 1:20 p.m., with the return flight departing St. Croix at 2:25 p.m. and arriving in Newark at 6:58 p.m.
The new route expands United's Caribbean network from Newark to 23 destinations. The airline currently operates Newark-St. Thomas service to the U.S. Virgin Islands.
"United is proud to connect more customers to more Caribbean destinations than any other airline in the New York City region," said Tom Kozlowski, Senior Manager, Latin & Hawaii Network Planning at United Airlines.
Commissioner Jennifer Matarangas-King of the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism called the announcement "a major milestone for St. Croix and a meaningful expansion of air access for both residents and visitors."
The information was disclosed in a press release statement. Customers can book flights through united.com and the United app.
