Investing.com -- U.S. President Donald Trump said Friday that he wants incoming Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh to operate with complete independence in his new position.
Speaking at a White House swearing-in ceremony, Trump told Warsh to avoid external influence in his decision-making. "Don't look at me, don't look at anybody, just do your own thing and do a great job," Trump said.
Trump stated that Warsh will restore confidence in the Federal Reserve and safeguard the institution's integrity. The president added that the Fed will make their own decisions under Warsh's leadership.
Trump also addressed economic policy goals, saying he wants to stop inflation. He stated that economic growth does not mean inflation.
