Manulife announces executive leadership changes effective July 1

Manulife Financial Corporation (NYSE: MFC) announced changes to its executive leadership team across Canada, Hong Kong, artificial intelligence and data, and technology operations, effective July 1, 2026.

Patrick Graham will become President and CEO of Manulife Canada, joining the Executive Leadership Team. Graham previously served as CEO of Manulife Hong Kong and Macau and has over 25 years of experience in insurance and financial services.

Wilton Kee will succeed Graham as CEO of Manulife Hong Kong and Macau, subject to regulatory approval. Kee joined Manulife in 2013 and was appointed CFO in 2022 and Deputy CEO in March 2026.

Jodie Wallis, Chief AI Officer, will report directly to CEO Phil Witherington and join the Executive Leadership Team with expanded responsibilities covering both AI and enterprise data. Wallis joined Manulife in 2020.

Shamus Weiland has been appointed Chief Technology and Operations Officer with expanded duties. This appointment follows Rahul Joshi's announced intent to retire as Chief Operations Officer. Weiland joined Manulife in 2019.

Stephanie Fadous, Chief Actuary, will take on additional accountability for Inforce Management and Reinsurance.

Karen Leggett, Global Chief Marketing Officer, announced her intent to retire at the end of 2026, with a successor to be named later.

"These important leadership changes ensure we have the right capabilities, both at the enterprise level and in our key markets of Canada and Hong Kong, to achieve our bold ambition and deliver against our new strategic priorities," said Witherington.

The leadership changes support Manulife's enterprise strategy launched in November 2025. Toronto-based Manulife operates across Canada and Asia, and primarily as John Hancock in the United States.
