Peabody Energy Corporation (NYSE: BTU) announced that board member Joe W. Laymon resigned from the board of directors effective immediately on May 20, 2026, citing personal health reasons.
Laymon's resignation vacated his positions on both the Compensation Committee and the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. The company stated his decision was not related to any disagreement with company operations, policies or practices.
The information was disclosed in a company statement that thanked Laymon for his service and contributions to the coal mining company.
