Quantum Cyber files patent for amphibious autonomous vehicle

May 20, 2026 7:30 AM EDT

Quantum Cyber N.V. (NASDAQ: QUCY) filed a provisional patent application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for an amphibious autonomous ground vehicle called the SCOUT-AX6 GUARDIAN, according to a company statement.

The provisional application, docket number QDI-2026-QDAS-001, was filed in May 2026 with Jacob Gitman listed as the sole inventor and Quantum Drone Inc. as assignee. The company has 12 months from the filing date to submit a non-provisional application to establish full patent rights.

The SCOUT-AX6 GUARDIAN is designed as a 6x6 all-wheel electric vehicle that operates on both land and water. The platform carries a 200 kg payload, reaches speeds of 80 km/h on land and 6-8 km/h in water, and has an operational range of up to 200 km per mission.

The vehicle features what the company calls a Quantum Sensing Navigation Core that uses a quantum magnetometer and quantum inertial navigation unit mounted on an airborne drone. This system broadcasts position data to the ground vehicle via the Quantum Reference Beacon Protocol, achieving navigation accuracy below 10 meters in GPS-denied environments.

The platform uses a two-drone system where one drone operates as an active beacon while a second charges on the vehicle's docking port. Communications use post-quantum encryption standards developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

The vehicle's hull is constructed from 6061-T6 aluminum with UHMWPE belly armor and carries an IP68 rating for water operations. It includes an Adaptive Hydrodynamic Central Tire Inflation System that adjusts tire pressure during water operations based on motor torque data.

"GPS jamming is no longer a theoretical risk -- it is a documented operational reality in every active theater," stated company management. "We have built a vehicle that navigates with quantum precision regardless of whether GPS exists."
