MicroAlgo develops algorithm for automated quantum circuit design
MicroAlgo Inc. (NASDAQ: MLGO) announced the development of a multi-objective evolutionary algorithm designed to automate quantum circuit creation. The algorithm can design quantum circuits without requiring pre-defined circuit specifications, according to a company statement.
The technology uses a library of quantum circuit components that can be combined to construct circuits for complex functions. The algorithm evaluates multiple performance metrics simultaneously, including circuit accuracy, width, depth, and gate count, to optimize designs for resource-constrained quantum hardware.
MicroAlgo tested the algorithm on two quantum computing applications: the Quantum Fourier Transform and Grover's Search Algorithm. The company reported that the algorithm successfully identified circuit structures meeting the input/output requirements for both applications and discovered alternative designs achieving the same functionality.
The algorithm operates by generating random quantum circuits from component libraries, simulating their performance, and using evolutionary processes including crossover and mutation operations to improve designs across multiple generations. This approach allows optimization of conflicting objectives, such as balancing circuit depth against accuracy requirements.
The Shenzhen-based company specializes in central processing algorithm development and provides solutions integrating algorithms with software and hardware systems. MicroAlgo's services include algorithm optimization, computing power acceleration, and data processing solutions.
The algorithm addresses challenges in quantum computing development, where circuit design typically requires expertise in quantum physics and computer science. The automated tool allows developers to define computational objectives while the system generates appropriate circuit designs.
