BioHarvest Sciences Inc. (NASDAQ: BHST) (FSE: 8MV0) appointed Nedira Salzman-Frenkel as Vice President of Business Development for its contract development and manufacturing organization division, according to a company statement.
Salzman-Frenkel will focus on securing contracts across pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, nutrition, and cosmetic sectors for the company's CDMO business. The appointment aligns with BioHarvest's strategy to establish partnerships with customers ahead of launching a new facility next year.
"Nedira brings over a decade of experience in the life sciences industry, including securing contracts with pharmaceutical companies and other related sectors," said Dr. Zaki Rakib in the statement.
Salzman-Frenkel previously served as Vice President of Business Development at an Israeli biotech company, where she secured a licensing term-sheet with a pharmaceutical company for Phase 3 clinical development. She also served as CEO of the Salzman Group, a contract research organization, where she secured approximately $30 million in CRO contracts across pharmaceutical, medical device, and agrochemical industries.
Her background includes co-founding Beetlebung Pharma Ltd. and Solviva, and leading business development at Salzman Capital Ventures Ltd. She holds an MBA from Tel Aviv University, a Master of Science in Biochemistry from Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from Ben Gurion University.
BioHarvest develops plant-based compounds using its botanical synthesis technology platform without growing the underlying plants. The company operates in two business segments: CDMO services for customers seeking plant-based compounds and proprietary nutraceutical products including dietary supplements.
