May 13 (Reuters) - JPMorgan Chase is overhauling its investment bank leadership as part of a wider reorganization, the largest U.S. lender said on Wednesday.

As part of the ‌reshuffle, investment banking coverage chief Dorothee Blessing, global head of capital markets Kevin Foley and global co-head of the financial institutions group Jared Kaye have ‌been appointed as the new ‌co-heads of global investment banking.

JPMorgan veteran Anu Aiyengar, former global head of M&A, becomes global chair of investment banking and M&A, stepping away from day-to-day managerial responsibilities. Charles Bouckaert was promoted from co-head of industrials investment banking to global head of M&A.

The overhaul comes as global dealmaking continues to accelerate in 2026 despite market volatility linked to the Iran war. Record megadeals are fueling a sharp rise in global M&A activity, with announcements reaching $2 trillion this month, up 33% from the same period a year earlier, according to Dealogic data.

A friendlier U.S. regulatory ‌regime, large investments in infrastructure by AI companies, and big initial public offerings are expected to continue to raise deal values.

JPMorgan remains the global leader in investment banking revenue, and fees rose 28% in the first quarter of 2026. Goldman Sachs is the global leader in M&A advisory.

JPMorgan also changed the structure of sector coverage, creating global investment banking head roles for each industry, replacing a former division between coverage and M&A heads. The Financial Times first reported the changes on Tuesday.
