General Mills promotes Dana McNabb to chief operating officer

General Mills Inc. (NYSE: GIS) announced Dana McNabb has been promoted to chief operating officer, effective June 1, 2026. McNabb will also join the company's board of directors while continuing to report to Chairman and CEO Jeff Harmening.
In her new role, McNabb will retain oversight of North America Retail and North America Pet divisions while adding responsibility for all operating segments and key functions. This includes the International and North America Foodservice segments, along with Digital & Technology, Innovation, Technology & Quality, Strategy and Growth, and Supply Chain teams.
McNabb currently serves as Group President of North America Retail, a position she has held since 2024. She added North America Pet responsibilities in 2025. Her previous roles at General Mills include Chief Strategy & Growth Officer, Group President of Europe & Australia segment, and President of the U.S. Cereal operating unit.
"Dana is a disciplined, strategic leader and results-driven operator with a proven passion for our brands and consumers," Harmening stated in the announcement. "She is exceptionally well suited to lead our global operations and restore profitable growth for General Mills and our shareholders."
McNabb began her career with General Mills in Canada in 1999. She previously served as Vice President of Global Marketing for Cereal Partners Worldwide, the company's joint venture with Nestlé. She holds a bachelor's degree in commerce from the University of Ottawa and an MBA from the London School of Business.
General Mills reported fiscal 2025 net sales of $19 billion, according to the press release statement.
