Ethos launches ChatGPT app for instant life insurance estimates

Ethos Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: LIFE) announced the launch of its ChatGPT app, making it available to ChatGPT's 900 million weekly active users. The Austin-based life insurance technology company said it is the first life insurance provider to build a dedicated experience within the AI assistant platform.

The app allows users to receive personalized monthly term life insurance estimates by answering five questions in under a minute. Users can explore coverage up to $3 million and proceed directly to Ethos to finalize rates without requiring medical exams, the company stated.

"Life insurance is one of the most important financial decisions a family can make, yet it's historically been one of the most opaque and intimidating," said Prassath Leelakrishnan, Chief Growth Officer of Ethos. "At Ethos, our focus is on removing that friction and meeting people where they are."

The integration is available through the ChatGPT app store. Users install the app and type "@Ethos" to access the service. The application process includes online health questions, and policies include a free will and trust valued at $898 in most states.

Ethos positions the launch as part of its strategy to eliminate traditional life insurance barriers such as medical exams, in-person meetings, and extended waiting periods. The company's platform can provide coverage in as little as 10 minutes through its digital application process.

The ChatGPT integration follows OpenAI's decision to open its platform to developers in October 2025. Ethos joins other brands that have created dedicated ChatGPT app experiences since the platform became available to third-party developers.
