BitGo Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: BTGO) announced its appointment as an additional custodian for Virtune's exchange-traded product program through its MiCA-licensed subsidiary BitGo Europe GmbH. The digital asset infrastructure company will provide custody services for the Virtune Stablecoin Index ETP.
BitGo holds a MiCA license from BaFin to provide custody and administration of crypto-assets on behalf of clients. The company will offer institutional-grade cold storage supported by up to $250 million in insurance coverage for the partnership.
Virtune operates as a regulated Swedish digital asset manager and ETP issuer with headquarters in Stockholm. The company manages 23 ETPs with $300 million in assets under management and serves over 160,000 investors. Its products are listed on Deutsche Börse Xetra, Nasdaq Stockholm, Nasdaq Helsinki, Euronext Amsterdam and Paris, and the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
"Virtune has been a valued partner, and this expansion is a natural evolution of a relationship built on operational excellence and mutual trust," said Jody Mettler, Chief Operating Officer at BitGo.
Christopher Kock, CEO at Virtune, stated the company was pleased to add BitGo as an additional custodian within its ETP program, noting their capabilities in digital asset custody and broad asset coverage.
The appointment expands Virtune's program asset support capabilities, enabling the company to custody a broader range of digital assets within its ETP structure. BitGo has provided services to institutional clients and ETP issuers across global markets for over a decade.
