DoorDash partners with Lyft to offer rideshare discounts to Canadian members

DoorDash (NASDAQ: DASH) and Lyft (NASDAQ: LYFT) announced the expansion of their partnership into Canada, adding rideshare savings to the DashPass membership program.

DashPass members in Canada can now receive discounts on Lyft rides through upfront savings on eligible trips. The partnership marks the first time DashPass members can access Lyft ride discounts internationally, building on an existing collaboration in the United States.

Members linking their DashPass and Lyft accounts receive a one-time benefit of 50% off one ride, up to $10, within 30 days of linking accounts. Ongoing benefits include 5% off on-demand rides and 10% off scheduled airport rides, limited to four rides monthly, plus two priority pickup upgrades each month.

New DashPass users who link through Lyft can receive three months of free membership, subject to eligibility requirements for users who have not subscribed to DashPass for at least six months prior to linking accounts.

"DashPass helps Canadians save on everyday moments, whether it's ordering from a restaurant, getting groceries delivered, or now getting around town," said Rob Edell, Vice President and General Manager of DashPass at DoorDash.

Jordan Glassberg, Vice President of Partnerships and Loyalty at Lyft, stated that Canada has been a priority region for the company since 2017. Lyft operates across the ten largest cities in Canada.

DashPass is DoorDash's membership program that offers $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on eligible orders. Members can link their accounts through either the DoorDash or Lyft applications, with discounts applied automatically without requiring promotional codes.
