United Airlines (NASDAQ: UAL) will launch new summer flights to four European destinations, beginning April 30. The airline will offer nonstop service from Newark/New York to Split, Croatia; Bari, Italy; Glasgow, Scotland; and Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
The Split route marks the first nonstop service between the U.S. and Croatia's Dalmatian Coast, operating three times weekly. United will be the only carrier serving Bari, Italy's gateway to Puglia, with four weekly flights starting May 1. Glasgow service launches May 8 with daily flights, representing the only nonstop connection between Newark and Scotland's cultural center.
Santiago de Compostela flights begin May 27, operating three times weekly to Spain's historic pilgrimage destination. United will also start daily service from Washington-Dulles to Reykjavik, Iceland on May 21.
The airline will resume several routes introduced in its 2025 summer expansion, including flights to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia; Faro and Madeira Island, Portugal; Palermo, Italy; Bilbao, Spain; and Nuuk, Greenland. These destinations will restart service between late April and early June.
In summer 2026, United will operate up to 210 daily flights during peak periods between the U.S. and 36 European destinations, including Greenland. The airline states that 14 of these destinations are not served by other U.S. network carriers.
United operates hubs in Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark/New York, San Francisco and Washington D.C. The information is based on a company press release.
