Helus Pharma partners with TARA Mind for veteran mental health outreach

April 28, 2026 7:32 AM EDT

Helus Pharma (NASDAQ: HELP) announced a collaboration with TARA Mind to support recruitment for its Phase 3 clinical trial of HLP003, an experimental treatment for major depressive disorder, while expanding mental health outreach in veteran communities.

The partnership involves TARA Mind and Veterans Exploring Treatment Solutions working to facilitate veteran engagement for the PARADIGM HLP003 Phase 3 program. HLP003 has received Breakthrough Therapy Designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for adjunctive treatment of major depressive disorder.

The collaboration follows President Trump's April 18, 2026 Executive Order titled "Accelerating Medical Treatments for Serious Mental Illness," which emphasizes expanding clinical research participation for populations including veterans who experience high rates of depression, PTSD, and suicide.

"Veterans face significant mental health challenges, and expanding awareness and access to clinical research opportunities is an important step toward improving outcomes," said Eric So, interim chief executive officer of Helus Pharma.

Marcus Capone, chairman and co-founder of TARA Mind, stated that the partnership aims to "strengthen outreach efforts, connect veterans to cutting-edge clinical opportunities, and ensure veterans have the latest resources that support their mental health."

Helus Pharma describes itself as a clinical stage pharmaceutical company developing novel serotonergic agonists for mental health conditions. The company is also developing HLP004, currently in Phase 2 trials for generalized anxiety disorder.

TARA Mind, founded in 2022 by former Navy SEAL Marcus Capone, operates a collaborative care platform focused on mental health therapies for individuals who have not responded to traditional treatments.
