Soluna Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: SLNH) announced a partnership with Sazmining to establish a 3 MW bitcoin mining operation at its Project Dorothy 1B facility in West Texas.
The collaboration represents Sazmining's second U.S.-based mining deployment and operates on a Bitcoin Mining as a Service model. The partnership may expand over time based on customer demand and available capacity at the facility.
Project Dorothy is powered by the 150 MW Briscoe Wind Farm, which Soluna recently acquired as part of its strategy to integrate power generation with computing infrastructure. The company plans a third phase of development that could deliver up to 300 MW of compute capacity for AI workloads.
"We're excited to welcome Sazmining to Project Dorothy and support their continued U.S. expansion," said John Belizaire, CEO of Soluna. "As Project Dorothy evolves to support both Bitcoin mining and AI workloads, partnerships like this highlight our ability to convert stranded renewable energy into high-performance computing across multiple use cases."
Kent Halliburton, CEO and Co-Founder of Sazmining, stated: "This is exactly the kind of partnership that proves Bitcoin mining is a net positive for energy grids. We're not just showing up in Texas and plugging in; we're maximizing the value of a carbon-free energy asset."
Sazmining operates data centers across North America, South America, Europe, and Africa, offering customers direct ownership of mining equipment with renewable energy operations. The company provides direct-to-wallet payouts independent of exchanges or custodians.
The information is based on a company press release.
