H.C. Wainwright analyst Matthew Caufield lowered the price target on LENZ Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ: LENZ) to $48.00 (from $56.00) while maintaining a Buy rating.
The analyst commented: "As we approach near-term 1Q26 earnings, we have evaluated our initial estimates for the topical presbyopia eye drop VIZZ launch. Notably, commercial efforts are in their initial stages, with 1Q26 reflecting the first full quarter of VIZZ sales. Appreciating sample availability commenced in October 2025, with broader launch into late 2025, we are currently modeling approximately 25K paid prescriptions for the first quarter of this year. Having discussed the initial launch trajectory with the company, we remain confident in the topical presbyopia opportunity, and conservatively tighten our expectations for the initial slope of the launch curve over the near-term. We are specifically encouraged by noted real world translatability of the VIZZ clinical profile with effect within approximately 30 minutes, and near-vision benefits typically lasting for patients throughout the workday up to 10 hours, and we believe adoption growth can continue over the coming quarters. As the launch trajectory develops, we reiterate our Buy rating and update our price target from $56 to $48, directing our attention to VIZZ adoption growth over the near term."
