Samsara launches fleet compliance platform for EU and UK markets

Samsara Inc. (NYSE: IOT) announced the launch of Smart Compliance, a platform designed to help fleet operators manage tachograph compliance requirements across the European Union and United Kingdom.

The platform integrates real-time driver alerts, centralized dashboard management, and digital coaching workflows into a single system. The solution aims to address compliance challenges faced by fleets operating across multiple European jurisdictions, with support for regulatory requirements in 17 countries.

Smart Compliance features in-cab alerts that warn drivers of potential violations before they occur, a centralized dashboard for managing tachograph downloads and infringement resolution, and VDO-powered European rulesets for infringement analysis. The platform also includes digital coaching tools and compliance key performance indicators for fleet managers.

"Previously, we would wait for the infringement report and deal with everything in bulk, which could take most of the day," said Matt Crossland, UK Area Manager at Mulgrew Haulage Ltd, which trialed the system. "Now everything is in one place and it takes about two minutes per infringement with Smart Compliance."

According to the company, tachograph offenses represented 58% of all DVSA HGV prosecutions in 2024. Starting in July 2026, compliance requirements will extend to cross-border light commercial vehicles over 2.5 tonnes, potentially affecting additional fleet operators.

The platform is available immediately for fleets operating in the EU and UK. Samsara develops connected operations technology for transportation, construction, and other industries requiring fleet management solutions.
