Builders FirstSource names Alena Brenner chief legal officer

Builders FirstSource Inc. (NYSE: BLDR) appointed Alena Brenner as executive vice president, chief legal officer and corporate secretary, the company announced. Brenner will report to CEO Peter Jackson and oversee legal, risk management, government affairs, compliance, corporate social responsibility and insurance functions.
Brenner brings nearly 25 years of legal experience across manufacturing, consumer packaged goods and fleet management industries. She joins from Cornerstone Building Brands, where she served as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary since 2021.
Before Cornerstone, Brenner held legal leadership roles at Ryder System Inc., including general counsel of its Fleet Management Solutions division and deputy general counsel. She previously worked at Anheuser-Busch InBev and law firm Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP in New York.
"Alena's breadth of experience in advising on legal matters related to our industry, litigation and risk management, corporate governance, and the execution of strategic business initiatives will bring significant value to Builders FirstSource," Jackson said in a statement.
Brenner earned her law degree from Fordham School of Law and holds bar admissions in New Jersey and New York. She also has a bachelor's degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University.
Irving, Texas-based Builders FirstSource operates approximately 570 locations across 43 states and describes itself as a provider of building materials for professional builders in new residential construction and repair and remodeling.
