Lumen Technologies (NYSE: LUMN) announced Jennifer Hodges will become executive vice president and chief legal officer, replacing Mark Hacker who is retiring to pursue ministry. The leadership changes take effect April 20, with Hacker supporting the transition through May 15, 2026.
Hodges currently serves as senior vice president of corporate governance, securities, transactions and litigation at Lumen. She previously worked as a managing director at Liberty Global, Inc. and spent over 12 years at McDermott Will & Schulte LLP, advising clients on cross-border joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and restructurings.
Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer Jeff Sharritts will assume public sector responsibilities previously handled by Hacker. Hacker has served as Lumen's chief legal officer since 2025 and took on additional public sector business leadership in October 2025.
"I am excited to partner even more closely with Jennifer as she steps into the role of Chief Legal Officer," said Kate Johnson, CEO of Lumen Technologies, according to the company's statement.
Hodges holds a J.D. from Boston University School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Colorado Boulder. The telecommunications company stated Hacker will be entering formation for the diaconate as part of his retirement plans.
