Burford Capital (NYSE: BUR) released its latest quarterly journal exploring legal finance trends across new markets and jurisdictions. The publication examines the expansion of legal finance beyond established markets as businesses and law firms seek capital and strategic support for complex disputes.
The journal covers legal finance developments in several regions, including Europe's patent framework changes, arbitration growth in Spain, and the emergence of legal finance in South Korea. According to the company, demand for external capital is increasing as legal systems evolve and cross-border activity expands.
"The global footprint of legal finance is expanding," said David Perla, Vice Chair at Burford Capital. "As jurisdictions adopt more sophisticated approaches to dispute resolution, businesses and law firms are recognizing legal finance as a strategic resource to support growth and manage legal risk."
The quarterly includes articles on healthcare litigation strategy in capital-constrained markets, intellectual property portfolio value in Europe following the Unified Patent Court launch, commercial arbitration developments in Spain, and regulatory factors affecting legal finance adoption in South Korea.
Burford Capital operates as a finance and asset management firm focused on law, offering litigation finance, risk management, asset recovery and legal finance advisory services. The company trades on both the New York Stock Exchange and London Stock Exchange under the ticker BUR.
