Equinix Inc. (NASDAQ: EQIX) announced the availability of Equinix Fabric Intelligence, an AI-driven operational layer designed to manage network infrastructure for enterprise AI workloads.
The platform introduces automated networking management across cloud, data center and edge environments. Fabric Intelligence operates as part of Equinix's Distributed AI Hub and aims to address challenges enterprises face with traditional network architectures when deploying AI systems.
The service includes four main components: Fabric Super Agent, which allows users to manage networking environments through natural language requests via platforms like Slack and Microsoft Teams; MCP Server, providing AI-ready management tools for connecting AI systems to networks; Fabric Application Connect, a private connectivity marketplace for AI service providers; and Fabric Insights, which offers AI-powered network monitoring and anomaly prediction.
"As agentic AI matures and inferencing applications proliferate across the enterprise, networking infrastructure needs to be faster and more flexible than ever before," said Jon Lin, Chief Business Officer at Equinix.
Research firm Omdia reported that 93% of organizations consider network automation essential for future operations, while 88% believe AI will be required for effective network automation.
Fabric Intelligence is currently available for preview. The platform builds on Equinix Fabric's existing portfolio, which serves more than 4,400 customers worldwide across Equinix's network of 280 data centers in 77 metropolitan areas.
Equinix also joined the Agentic AI Foundation as a Gold member earlier this year, supporting the development of standards for autonomous AI systems.
