Wrap Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: WRAP) announced it received a purchase order from Advanced Blast & Ballistic Systems Group for 20 MERLIN-1 Counter-UAS drone systems intended for the U.K. public safety market.
The MERLIN-1 platform is described as a modular, non-lethal drone-mounted payload designed to entangle and neutralize hostile drones mid-flight. The system aims to provide an alternative to missiles, fragmentation-based interceptors, or other existing solutions for counter-drone operations.
According to the company, the order represents a commercial milestone for its expanding drone portfolio and a step toward broader market entry in the United Kingdom and Europe. Wrap stated the pre-order may support demonstration, evaluation, and market development efforts for counter-drone missions in the U.K. and broader European region.
"Global public safety is changing quickly, and the rise of drones means human-machine interactions are becoming a more immediate part of the operating environment," said Jared Novick, President of Wrap. "This pre-order implies growing recognition that non-lethal capabilities are not optional add-ons, but an essential layer of modern public safety, security, and critical infrastructure protection."
The Miami-based company has announced drone-related commercial activity in Canada, Panama, and India in recent months. Wrap's drone strategy includes both MERLIN-1 for counter-drone missions and DFR-X, described as a Drone First Responder Interdiction platform designed for active, non-lethal intervention.
Wrap opened pre-orders for DFR-X in the fourth quarter of 2025 and targets go-to-market readiness in the second quarter of 2026. The company is also in discussions with ABBS regarding a demonstration unit for an upcoming industry exhibition.
The information is based on a company press release statement.
