Kura Sushi USA, Inc. (NASDAQ: KRUS) announced that Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer Jeff Uttz will leave the company on April 28 to accept a position within the restaurant industry.
The company has initiated an executive search for qualified candidates to fill the CFO position. President and Chief Executive Officer Hajime Uba will serve as interim CFO and principal financial officer while the search for a permanent replacement is conducted.
"Jeff has been an invaluable partner to me and to Kura Sushi over the past four years with his strategic insight and financial leadership instrumental to our growth journey as a public company," said Uba.
During Uttz's tenure, the company expanded from 39 locations to 88 locations across 22 states. "During this time, we have grown Kura from 39 locations to 88 locations across 22 states to date, and I'm incredibly proud of what we've accomplished together as a team," Uttz said.
Kura Sushi USA operates technology-enabled Japanese restaurants featuring a revolving sushi service model. The company was established in 2008 as a subsidiary of Japan-based Kura Sushi, Inc., which operates more than 650 restaurants internationally.
